Basic skills will be covered through participation in fun games with lots of action. Individual skill improvement as well as the mechanics of good team play will be stressed. We’ll have scrimmages against local teams, as well as participating in a jamboree. Participants must provide their own helmet with mask (“NOCSAE” sticker on helmet recommended), gloves (hockey gloves okay), shoulder pads, arm or elbow pads, labeled stick, cleats, athletic supporter w/ protective cup, & colored mouth protector. All practices/home games at Huntley Meadow. *NOTE ‘away’ game days / times will vary. A jersey will be provided for games, but must be returned to the Parent Coordinator or Coach at season’s end. The focus is to have fun practicing with friends through games and stations, encouraging individual skill development. Batting tees will be used and Coach-pitch will be introduced. In 2024, Norwich Rec will welcome Softball back to Huntley Meadows!  The Hanover High School Softball team captains, Emma Campfield and Jess Lobb will lead two clinics with members of their team and Norwich Baseball coach, Sue Regan.
 
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM    Adult Futsal Group - Futsal
Please bring a clean pair of shoes to wear inside the gym.  Futsol will not take place during school holidays and snow days. By signing up for this program, you are putting your name on a contact list for the organizer. The organizer will communicate before each session, to confirm that the first 12 respondents are signed up to play at the designated time.  Please do not arrive to a session if you are not confirmed by the organizer for that specific session.

This class will expand your knowledge of how to be a safe and responsible mountain bike rider. Learn basic skills, minor bike maintenance, and enjoy playing a variety of games. Safety rules for biking on trails as well as dirt & paved roads, will be covered. Learn how to balance better and perform basic maneuvers, like wheel lifts and cornering. Riders will learn what to wear/what tools to carry/how to ride safely in town as a pack. Riders must be confident riding in town and on easy trails. Our Advanced group will be challenged with more difficult technical skills and terrain with longer rides. Kids in this group MUST be able to ride safely in a group on the road from Huntley to Brookmead or up Brigham Hill. Equipment needed: TUNED mtn. bike, properly fitted helmet, water bottle & snack (carried by rider); gloves & eye protection recommended

Safety rules for biking on trails as well as dirt & paved roads, will be covered. Learn how to balance better and perform basic maneuvers, like wheel lifts and cornering. Riders will learn what to wear/what tools to carry/how to ride safely in town as a pack. Riders must be confident riding in town and on easy trails. Our Advanced group will be challenged with more difficult technical skills and terrain with longer rides. Kids in this group MUST be able to ride safely in a group on the road from Huntley to Brookmead or up Brigham Hill. Equipment needed: TUNED mtn. bike, properly fitted helmet, water bottle & snack (carried by rider); gloves & eye protection recommended

This class will expand your knowledge of how to be a safe and responsible mountain bike rider. Learn basic skills, minor bike maintenance, and enjoy playing a variety of games. Safety rules for biking on trails as well as dirt & paved roads, will be covered. Learn how to balance better and perform basic maneuvers, like wheel lifts and cornering. Riders will learn what to wear/what tools to carry/how to ride safely in town as a pack. Riders must be confident riding in town and on easy trails. Our Advanced group will be challenged with more difficult technical skills and terrain with longer rides. Kids in this group MUST be able to ride safely in a group on the road from Huntley to Brookmead or up Brigham Hill. Equipment needed: TUNED mtn. bike, properly fitted helmet, water bottle & snack (carried by rider); gloves & eye protection recommended
