K-2 Coed Lacrosse - K-2 Coed Lacrosse This program will provide an introduction to the sport of lacrosse. Participants will experience obstacle courses, skill stations, modified games, as well as scrimmaging. Learn all the basic stick-handling: cradling, passing, catching, and become familiar with ground balls and scooping. Dodging and shooting will also be introduced. Players should bring their own labeled stick. Some sticks will be available but parents should confirm need with coach beforehand. We will go over lacrosse gear as we move from skills/drills to scrimmaging.

Individual skill improvement as well as the mechanics of good team play will be stressed. We’ll have scrimmages against local teams, as well as participating in a jamboree. Participants must provide their own helmet with mask (“NOCSAE” sticker on helmet recommended), gloves (hockey gloves okay), shoulder pads, arm or elbow pads, labeled stick, cleats, athletic supporter w/ protective cup, & colored mouth protector. All practices/home games at Huntley Meadow. *NOTE ‘away’ game days / times will vary. A jersey will be provided for games, but must be returned to the Parent Coordinator or Coach at season’s end. Learn basic skills, minor bike maintenance, and enjoy playing a variety of games. Safety rules for biking on trails as well as dirt & paved roads, will be covered. Learn how to balance better and perform basic maneuvers, like wheel lifts and cornering. Riders will learn what to wear/what tools to carry/how to ride safely in town as a pack. Riders must be confident riding in town and on easy trails. Our Intermediate/Advanced group will be challenged with more difficult technical skills and terrain with longer rides. Equipment needed: TUNED mtn. bike, properly fitted helmet, water bottle & snack (carried by rider); gloves & eye protection recommendedIn the case of rain, practice will be cancelled.

Mountain Biking - Mountain Biking - Intermediate (2nd-4th Grades) This fun class will expand your knowledge of how to be a safe and responsible mountain bike rider. Learn basic skills, minor bike maintenance, and enjoy playing a variety of games. Safety rules for biking on trails as well as dirt & paved roads, will be covered. Learn how to balance better and perform basic maneuvers, like wheel lifts and cornering. Riders will learn what to wear/what tools to carry/how to ride safely in town as a pack. Riders must be confident riding in town and on easy trails. Our Intermediate/Advanced group will be challenged with more difficult technical skills and terrain with longer rides. Equipment needed: TUNED mtn. bike, properly fitted helmet, water bottle & snack (carried by rider); gloves & eye protection recommendedIn the case of rain, practice will be cancelled.

Youth Indoor Tennis - Wednesdays - Indoor Youth Tennis An introduction to tennis, gauged towards our youngest players. We will focus on stroke development and the basics of the sport, while incorporating fun games and exercises aimed at improving footwork and hand/eye coordination. Racket and tennis shoes required, but all other equipment will be provided. Any parents/caregivers who would like to help out are welcome to join in!

5/6 Grade Boys Lacrosse - 5/6 Boys Lacrosse Basic skills will be covered through participation in fun games with lots of action. Individual skill improvement as well as the mechanics of good team play will be stressed. We’ll have scrimmages against local teams, as well as participating in a jamboree. Participants must provide their own helmet with mask (“NOCSAE” sticker on helmet recommended), gloves (hockey gloves okay), shoulder pads, arm or elbow pads, labeled stick, cleats, athletic supporter w/ protective cup, & colored mouth protector. All practices/home games at Huntley Meadow. *NOTE ‘away’ game days / times will vary. A jersey will be provided for games, but must be returned to the Parent Coordinator or Coach at season’s end. Cal Ripken Baseball (Coed 3rd-6th Grades) - Cal Ripken BASEBALL - Minors (3rd-4th Grade) There are no cuts, everyone plays, and we bat through the order. Participants will gain a strong understanding of the game, with individual skill development stressed. We will be playing teams from other UV organizations. Please bring your own glove. Players must provide their own baseball pants. Boys - Must wear an athletic supporter/cup. Uniforms will be provided and handed out before the first game. Away games will be in the neighboring towns of Lebanon, Hanover and Hartford, with some additional travel.
