Invasive Species Walk and Talk with County Forester Dan Healey

What: Join us for a walk and talk with County Forester Dan Healey to learn about identifying and controlling invasive plant species that impact our community. Dan will provide a brief overview of the key species that impact our local forests and ecosystem. Through a hands-on walk-through Huntley Meadow, Dan help us to identify key threats (e.g. buckthorn, Japanese knotweed, honeysuckle) understand considerations for how we manage and mitigate the impacts of these species. Refreshments will be served. 

Where: Huntley Meadow Picnic Shelter
When: Sunday, August 10 at 9am
Why: Monitoring and treating invasive plants is one of the most important things we can do to care for Vermont’s forests and natural areas and ensure that we pass this treasure on to future generations.
